A perfectly crafted over-the-top adventure movie with stunning cinematography. It's not quite the Tintin I knew and loved growing up, but it's arguably one much better-suited to the big screen, not to mention to Steven Spielberg. There's also an abundance of references to other books in the series, from the obvious to the hidden. The action scenes' choreography is jaw-dropping, constantly upping the stakes and the insanity in unpredictable ways. The voice work is good, Serkis of course being the highlight, but it's the animation that really brings this to life; the combination of cartoony designs with realistic rendering is new and fresh and fun to look at. All in all it's easily one of the most fun movies to come out this year.
