Some great performances and an interesting subject. Jonah Hill is the real surprise here, as he actually does a pretty great job with his (first?) dramatic role. Brad Pitt is Brad Pitt, good but unsurprisingly so. It's quite interesting how a film about baseball actually talks so little about the sport itself, and also how well it handled its bittersweet ending. Overall a good, well-crafted film that has an interesting origin story but delivers few surprises.
